The Joy of Boating

...Boating and cooking, both at same time, is as good as sex. Or better?
Actualy, I don't know! :banghead:

The Admiral ridding our 18'Cat "Aquaoolico", and the 86 y.o. in law enjoying the trip and the fishing!

All our wind has left to go help Sandy back east. So the water was unusually calm yesterday for around here. Even the cormorants were out enjoying the day.

I've come a little late to the joy of boating. Played around on a San Juan 23 off and on for about 15 years. We now have the Roughwater and am looking forward to many years of fun in the PNW.:)

Indeed. And Al- clearly you are right- Mark IS longing for a flybridge boat. Maybe you can occasionally give him rides in yours?

...and then 3 weeks later, he posts this.

"...I'm dreaming of a new flybridge...:whistling:"

Hmmmmm, coincidence? I think not.

Notice my "death grip" on Al's flybridge. It was rocking and rolling up there as we were anchored in the middle of the Bay.

Chip, that looks like a meth lab.

Not quite but almost. I'm sure I lost a few brain cells on the project.

yep, and thats why i've never been partial to flybridges. Enjoy the ride:)

I prefer being closer to the center of rotation.

And I'll try to ignore Al's boat's advantages.

ha ha......maybe a handicap not an advantage. Wait untill hye gets in a heavy sea with strog winds and he will wish he no longer had that sail up there attempting to sail his boat independently of his control.
The only advantage is visability and then mostly only in calm seas that in my opinion

The Coot is a motorboat. The sails are optional and flown only when it's to my advantage/whim. Don't contemplate using sails without the engine except for get-home-after-engine-failure or to experiment.

There is no question that Mark and Jeff get as much enjoyment out of their boats as any of us here. It gives me pleasure to see people that enjoy it so much.:socool:
