Just received my edition of Southern Boating.

The newest add is for a 36z MJM weekend cruiser.

The claim is 13mpg @ 5kts and 13 GPH at 26kts.

I wonder if someone purchased the boat and ran it 130 miles at 5K (10gal) ,and 260nm at 26K (130gal ) with only the "correct " (140gal) amount of fuel according to the advertising folks , when the engine would go quiet?

Seems the "Green BS " gas run its course , and now every boat assembler is a big "efficiency" fan!

:)

I'd bet it would be pretty darn close to advertised. MJM builds a very high tech boat with some of prominent names in the business involved. Lightweight composite hulls, aluminum block diesels and front facing props on IPS.

Of course, some will anguish over the lack of Volvo support 40 years from now...

Why would they do that when all they have to do is put a few gallons in a container and measure how much they burn in a given time at each speed?
