I don't mind running the genny when we need it, but I prefer to keep it at a minimum. We have a 3K inverter with 12 golf cart battery house bank. This will run everything on the boat for a couple...

I used a hydraulic crimper I got from Harbor Freight to do all the cables on the boat. Can't beat the price at $53, and that includes several of the most common die sizes. Comes in a nice case, too....

We have them installed on our boat. I can attest that they work as advertised. We hit a huge submerged log on the Pearl River a few years ago. The elastic element sheared as it was designed to do,...

What's your cruising speed.

Running our twin Lehman 120's at 1600 rpm gives us about 7.2 kts and a fuel burn rate of about 3.6 gph. If we push them up to 1750 or so we can get 8 kts, but fuel burn goes up to around 5 gph....

RE: Your speed at idle

RE: Fuel Capacity

800 gallons in 4 tanks, but I usually only fill to about 600 gallons. Unless I find a really good deal on fuel!

Fuel burn 3.6GPH at 1600 RPM, which usually gives me 7.2-7.5 knots. 1800 RPM will...

Direct TV

You can get an in-motion KVH satellite system for about $1K. It is the RV version, but works fine on the boat. This is the one we installed six years ago and it works perfectly at anchor and...

RE: Rafting up ??

Nope, no rafting for us. I want to have my own anchor down and set so I am comfortable with staying in place. And I want to be able to leave in a hurry, should I need to. Any boat passing nearby...

Malcolm Elliott is one of the best there is, in our opinion. You will not get any broker that will recommend him, as he is a straight shooter and will tell it like it is. He saved us from purchasing...

Steve,

We had to replace our refrigerator a couple of years ago. Our available space is just about identical to yours. We found a Summit FFAR10 that fits perfectly. Of course, this is a 10 cu ft....
