I've had two Bayliners so far. The first was a mid-80's Ciera Sunbridge 2750...it had a nice interior and was a fast boat, but the engine and outdrive were in bad shape and I sold it. It was fast,...

I would definitely call the Bayliner 38xx a "trawler", but maybe qualify it as a "fast trawler"? With those big block/big displacement naturally-aspirated diesels, she'll travel along at 7 knots @...

I can't think of any reason a Bayliner 38xx wouldn't be OK for Bahamas. Generator, two marine AC's...sounds like good on-the-hook time to me! Would it actually make the 50 mile or so trip from...

I know this is an old question, but I'll answer it since I looked at several Mainship 34's before I discovered the Bayliner 3818/3888/3870's. Loved the simple design of the Mainship 34 when I first...

Ya know, just tossing out a thought, but you might want to take a look at a Bayliner 4588 (the pilothouse model)...the styling is a little less "Down East", but the salon is huge, the galley is up,...

Yup...I think big displacement, slow-turning, naturally-aspirated diesels are the way to go, at least for these boats. You can run at trawling speed all day long without any worries about building...

Hey...Jacksonville, NC or Jacksonville, FL?

I was initially a little skeptical of the Hino engines (Hino is or was a Toyota subsidiary...they still make diesel trucks). The folks on...

Thanks...I haven't been on one of the pilothouse models yet, but I have a feeling I'd love the layout. Who knows, a 45xx pilothouse might be my next boat, although I'm pretty sure I'll get quite a...

Yup, got it! I've gotten to know several of the folks on BOC already...great resource.

Doesn't hurt to make even more friends though. :)

Thumbs up Any other Bayliner 38xx owners here?

Or 32xx owners? Or maybe 45xx/47xx pilothouse owners?

I recently bought a 1989 Bayliner 38xx "fast trawler"...I feel like I stumbled onto quite a gem of a trawler-style yacht. (I've been a fan of...

Acquired a Bayliner 3818 "fast trawler" motoryacht!

Hey folks...I hadn't been here in a while, and thought I'd drop by.

Yeah, that young couple was brave to do that trip in any boat, including an Endeavourcat 30! However, I will say that Endeavour...

Hey, thanks for the post. I decided to pass on it...it's probably more than I need to be trying to tackle at the moment. I'm going to hang on to the Bayliner 2755 for another year or two (getting...

Older and affordable trailerable trawlers?

Hey guys...I'd love to find a roomy trawler that's still trailerable. I guess my standard of comparison would be the Macgregor 26X sailboats...they are 26' length, 8.5' beam, have a roomy cabin, and...

So, question: Assuming one or both of the tanks are leaking, is it possible to spray some sort of sealant in them to seal the leak? The fuel would have to be pumped out while this is done, of...

Actually, it's a 1982, but I think it's a 34 I, not a 34 II. It has the extended top over the lower deck.

Looked at a 1981 Mainship 34 II...thoughts?

Hey guys...I'm a newbie here, I've been lurking for a couple weeks, and I've got a few questions.

Last weekend, I went and looked at an older Mainship 34 at the coast here in NC. I spent the...
