• Trawler Forum Classified Posting Guidelines
    • We expect ads placed to be related to the topic of this forum.
    • Ads that are inactive for 180 days or longer may be moved to the Classified Archive and locked. Ads may be relisted if the item is still current. Alternatively, owners may contact a Moderator to reinstate an archived ad.
    • The Classified section is for advertising, members are asked to refrain from posting discussions to a Classified Ad. Please start a discussion thread or PM the owner for discussions.
    • Do not hijack another member's ad by posting unsolicited commentary. Example: if a member has posted an ad offering an anchor for sale, don't add a post to his thread stating that you have an anchor you'd like to get rid of also. Posts deemed as unsolicited commentary may be removed.
    • For your own security, do NOT include your e-mail or phone number in your ad. Instead request that interested parties contact you via PM (private message) to provide owners contact info.
    • Brokers, Dealers, or those with a commercial interest in a sale are prohibited from posting in Classifieds.
    • Only Trawler Forum Commercial Members may post ads in the Commercial section. You must be a designated Commercial Member to start threads in this section of the forum. (Contact a moderator if you have questions about this)
    • Don't post links to commercial sites where you are also offering the boat, such as eBay, Craigslist or Yachtworld, etc. unless it contains a more in-depth description, additional information or pictures.
    • Place only one ad per item (you may repost only when your ad has expired and been removed).
    For Sale ads MUST include:
    • Asking price
    • Location
    • A Basic Description
    • Clear statement whether you are the owner or non-owner (posting for friend, relative, or acquaintance)
    • Don't forget to select: FOR SALE, WANTED or FREE in the Title block.
All ads should also include ALL the following:
    • Pertinent maintenance and condition information
    • Exterior picture or pictures
    • Interior picture or pictures (boats)
For maximum impact & exposure, it is suggested the Ad Title include: Year, Manufacturer, Model, Length, Price, and Location or at the very top of the ad body. When your item has sold or the ad is no longer relevant: Please post a Reply to the ad that the item is SOLD or click "Report Post" on post 1 of the thread to ask a moderator to archive the ad. Ads may be moved or removed by our staff at any time for any reason. All ads must comply with site rules. Thanks for your cooperation.
  • Avoid Scams.

Our classifieds are free and anyone registered here is welcome to post an ad.
Be aware that there are unscrupulous folks out there. Avoid any interaction that seems odd to you or feels wrong. Inquiries from unknown buyers, buyers agents and other non-traditional approaches should be treated with extreme caution.

Beware of unsolicited contacts offering to put you in touch with someone else who is buying or selling via e-mail or text.

Do not post your e-mail address or phone number in a classifieds ad.

Hints that you may be dealing with a Scammer:
    • Seller or Buyer approaches you via a direct email or PM and then steers you to an off-site communication method (text or email).
    • No posts or very few forum posts.
    • Recent forum membership
    • Insists on conducting negotiations via email or text rather than PM
    • Requires payment via Bank Transfer, BitCoin/CryptoCurrency, WesternUnion or other unsecured method.
    • Buyer or Seller suggests Paypal "Friends and Family" payment. Paypal is a good way to arrange payment but an invoice for goods and services should be used rather than "Friends and Family". "Friends and Family" avoids fees BUT there is no recourse if the transaction runs aground. Friends and Family is for gifts only. There is no protection for Friends and Family transactions, so never ever use it to buy something.
    • Declines to allow viewing the item before proceeding with the transaction.

I thought I would ask, I am looking for used and not abused Garmin MFD's anything above the 4208 through 6200 series MFD's, a Garmin 18" or 24 Radar unit, and or 1 or 2, Garmin 740 or 741xs plotters. In addition I'm looking for VHF 200 radios or any Class B AIS transponder that hasn't been programmed with an MMSI. If you want to part with any NMEA2000 Garmin NMEA2K displays or sensors (except gas engine flow sensors) please pm or e-mail me.
I'm trying to outfit a 1976 Gulstar 36 Mark II trawler with dual helm stations.
I'm also looking for the Gam(?) SSB counterpoise ground system for my ham radio ICOM IC7000 and AT140 auto tuner.
Thanks in advance.

I can't help you on equipment. But I can tell you those "new style " Garmin 741xs units are great, we just installed a couple.

Yeah we would all love to buy the latest garmin equipment at used prices. I have seen used garmin stuff on ebay selling for cheaper than new, but it's not exactly selling at fire sale prices. I would check there.

West Marine had the 740s for $699 but it ended last Sunday. Good Luck.

I have had and tried most of the 4200 line up, the 740's I like the 741xs because it has an analog video input and supports various sonar/ chirp and depth finder options the WiFi component isn't so importent to be but I might be able to use a tablet in the lower helm if I get one of the newer xs models. My 6212 is the primary MFD on my Mainship. Since I'll be selling the Mainship soon, I may install a 4212 in the 6212 place at the upper helm. There's a bunch of used stuff from China I'm not touching those units.....

Don't know if you have looked at the refurbished units. These are generally units with a warranty issue that the factory refurbished and a dealers sells as refurbished with a warranty for some thing like 30% off. Take the unit model and enter "Garmin (unit model) refurbished" into a Google search and see what you come up with.

Will have a Garmin 18" radar antenna available shortly if you are interested.

I would like a Garmin GMR18HD if that's what you have available pm or e-mail me with details and price.
Thanks,
Bill

Sorry, mine isn't HD.

I ended up sourcing everything with deep discounts up to 50% off. For the Radar I ended up with the older Garmin GMR21. I will probably swap it with my Mainship's GMR18HD.
Thanks,
Bill

My local boat yard has a used table.

A Garmin 230 is in the box with its book and face cover.

A note sez , Needs Battery.

No need that's not the type of plotter I would use for anything other than an emergency. My configuration will be a new Garmin 741xs, connected to an external GPS antenna, a 740s connected to the NMEA2K network and a GMR18HD Radar will be connected to the 741xs, I have 2 Garmin VHF 200 radios they will have my new MMSI programmed into them and be on the NMEA2K backbone, a GPS19X as a NMEA2K GPS source, an AIS600 class B transponder w/my MMSI will be on the NMEA2K, a Maretron heading sensor NMEA2K, a dual frequency AirMar sonar/ depth finder transducor will connect to the Garmin 741xs, a GXM52 SIRIUS WX receiver on the NMEA2K buss and a GWS-10 wind direction and speed sensor will round off the electronics.
I have everything and anticipate installing this equipment at the lower helm station since I'm almost positive the upper bridge will be removed.
Those who sold me equipment on this forum I would like to say thank you.
Bill
