Wanted Loop Boat

I am a serious buyer looking for an appropriate boat in which to do the loop. I am located in South florida at this time, moving back to summer residence in upstate new york at end of May. I think I can start the loop easily from either location so interested in boats located in those general areas as a preference but not adverse to traveling for the correct boat. My preferences are a single engine diesel with bow thruster but again not locked into that. 36-38 feet....probably aft cabin. Am very concerned about black iron fuel tanks, but am willing to listen and be educated on the subject. Price 50-60K. Thanks, Cliff

You should get intimate with Yachtworld and maybe Boattrader. Yachtworld especially has lots of boats to drool over. Boattrader is a bit more oriented towards smaller boats but still has lots of boats that can meet your needs. Have fun. Somewhere on this site is a Boat Buyers 101. You can search this site for it.

Wanted loop boat

Already tied into those sites plus the site of association of the great loop and a site dedicated to boats available in Canada. Little luck so far. Hoping to find someone who might be on the fence and hasnít yet listed his boat. Thanks for the advice. Regards cliff

There's also the AGLCA. They have a boats for sale section and also 2 meetings a year usually. One in Alabama (Fall) and one on the east coast (spring). Many boaters there will open up their boats for you to walk thru and check out. Some will be up for sale when they finish the loop.

There's also Boatsearch 101 here on TF.

Many people think they must do that trip in a trawler type boat. It is possible to buy a ChrisCraft, Carver etc twin engine for much less and have money left over for the fuel difference. At 7kn. They are efficient also. Just a thought.

"I am a serious buyer looking for an appropriate boat in which to do the loop."

Sounds from your desirements you want to do the loop and then keep the boat?

If not a keeper a far less expensive inshore looper can easily be found.
