Trawler wanted

We want your once loved, but no longer needed, trawler. Let us love and care for it now and help us make our retirement dreams come true.
BOAT WANTED!
Recently retired couple in NC, seeks respite from our storm recovery work (house flooded 13”) with long dreamed for ~ 40’ Trawler . Gally up. Island bed. Fiberglass. Twin diesel engines. Two heads. Splash ready (or close). Teak inside a bonus. Doesn’t need to be in perfect repair, as we are handy, but not a project boat, as we already have a project house! We have cash, a boat yard and a surveyor standing by, for a quick sale.

So sorry about the extensive flooding. I can only imagine the mess you and your neighbors are dealing with.

Hello,
We were docked in New Bern for the hurricane and the following tropical storm. Last we heard, New Bern Grand Marina is still working to rebuild the F and G dock. The hotel is still being repaired.
Good luck in your search.

Yes, it was and still is a mess. We escaped to our room above the garage. Now we have made a studio apartment up here with bathroom. The house was gutted and my 90 year old mom and 33 year old daughter are living there. We have insulation, a sub floor and a temporary kitchen. New AC unit arrives this week and my husband is doing all the electric and plumbing. To say we are tired is an understatement! The boat is a dreamed of escape!

Yes the rebuilding continues but Bridgepointe is still destroyed with no signs of rebuilding. We plan to put our boat over here in Bridgeton (where we actually live).

1978 Albin for Sale

We are selling our 1978 Albin 36. Haven't listed her yet, but here are some details.

Lehman 120 runs great. Engine is all up to date on general maintenance. Last year I went the extra yard and replaced heat exchanger, oil exchanger, transmission exchanger, etc... Also replaced all nav lights and spreader lights with the expensive stuff.

What I think will make this sell fast is that I have a newer genset (Onan Quiet 5kw eQD) and recently replaced one of the ac units. Also has good electronics up and down and radar, etc. She is old and requires tlc to keep out leaks, but she's been great to us!

$20,000.

Best,
Bob (410)294-9998

Our "In Sanity" checks all your boxes but the island bed. It's set to one side of the bow with steps up.

I just went for a cruise today in the rain to see if I could find any fish.

We have a listing here on trawler forum in the classifieds but I can't figure out how to link to it. Here's the Craigslist ad.

1989 36' aft Cabin Sabreline fast trawler. Twin Detroit diesels with about 2200 hours. Lots of new equipment. We are thinking of selling but the boat is not on the market yet.

Now just a dog-gone minute here! Some of us didn’t even get a whack at you. We don’t even think you’re throughly advised until you’ve heard all the arguments and debates..... that’s at least 150 posts from now!

It’s a 38’ United Ocean Classic. It’s all that we described (although my hubby would have liked two -4 more feet). Ironically, we had looked at this one before the hurricane but it was out of our price range. We included a letter, with our offer, explaining a bit about ourselves and a promise to keep the cruising dream alive! We also upped the budget and they were motivated to sell these months later, so happily, we struck a deal. Any advice for newbies would be appreciated! We have hired a captain, for the two days of cruising to get to our home town marina. We hope to learn as we go.

There will be time to whack away. So many questions! Teak oil? Varnish? Sculpture and art on board? Hanging plants, glass vs plastic plates, cups, wine glasses? Bold colors vs navy and white? Cat on board? How many shoes will fit? My hubby will have the serious questions about engines, etc. Shout outs encouraged!

Ahhh it’s lovely! Would have considered it, for sure. Good luck with your selling. Hope you enjoy the last bits.
