King, I thought I had the only "rims" on a truck. 400hp? whew.
I think I paid over $15k just to have that engine built. It's as high performance as a 360 ci. could ever be made! Bored/stroked, Hemi racing pistons, racing cam, ceramic headers, MSD, you name it. Total torque monster- and I remember the manifold and the 4 barrel cost $3k alone- just to be able to finally eliminate the computer need for the original fuel injection. I used to drive this around in Hurricanes here and didn't want to be stopped by a computer failure- not after- DURING. Had water up to the floorboards in Katrina (hit here first), as I drove past stranded Range Rovers on Key Biscayne. Here's what I learned about BIG GHETTO RIMS, -when you have a blow out (like I did by hitting road debris on TOP of the Rickenbacker bridge which took the inside of the back rim out (the ONLY place I wasn't paying attention to the road-nice view and all) is that you can drive on just the rims with little noticeable difference other than a minor thump thump of the air filler. So cops with their "blow out strip's" won't slow you down at all.
I took some great photos during Wilma- I was the ONLY vehicle on the streets between N. Miami and Key Biscayne as the storm was passing. I personally cleared our street of tree's with a chain and 4x4 as I arrived. Good times.
OH, and I rode out Andrew in 92 on my boat. I will
not ever be doing that again, but afterwards riding on land? -no problemo.
