PT38 Sedan Owners Manual

OK, now that the ice has been broken I'd like to jump on the band wagon.* I'm looking for the manual for a '83 PT38 Trawler, sedan model built by Cheer Men Marine.* Any & all help locating the manual will be appreciated.

I have part of a manual for the aft cabin model and will*share that material with those who need it.

RE: Owners Manual

I agree with ED, I would love an owners manual for a PT38 Sedan by the same builder.

RE: Owners Manual

Is there such a thing as an owner's manual for a boat? Maybe for a new build and you insist on all drawings, etc. For my 2003 boat I have the "stuff" on the bolts ins like toilets, stove, engines, genset etc. But an owner's manual per se like on a car, never seen one. Even the owner's manual on a new Searay is just the info on the bolt in stuff. On two new Searays I had, the best "owner's manual" were the magazine articles with all the dimensions, tank sizes weights etc.

Sure.* While our boat has had several previous owners all of them did a great job of retaining all the manuals for the boat.* So we have a complete, original owners manual, engine, engine parts, and engine service manuals, and so on.* The original GB owners manual has basic drawings (no dimensions, though), full specifications including the size, type, and pitch of the factory-fitted props, operating instructions for the basic systems on the boat, electrical and fuel schematics for the single and twin engine versions, and so on.* All nicely bound.

The only piece of equipment that did not have a manual when we bought the boat was the Onan generator.* But someone on the GB forum sent me one.

Most GB-related manuals--- engines, transmissions, the boats themselves, and so forth are also available on the GB owners site.* Not every boat model manual is there--- only the ones that owners have made PDFs from and posted.

RE: Owners Manual

Marin - You and I are saying the same thing - there are manuals for the bolt ins, which includes engines and gensets. On my vessel, there is a*manual for at least 50 different bolt ins, nicely set up by the broker who built the boat on spec.

Sunchaser,

Yes, there is such a thing as a manual for the boat.* It has such things as tankage, props, steering, etc.* I've attached the TOC for the PT-38 Sundeck to show the complete list.

RE: Owners Manual

Ed kindly sent me copies of what he had.* I did an OCR conversion to Word and back to PDF which cleaned it up and greatly reduced the file size.* There are sections missing (which I would like to add if anyone has them) but, for now, you can find the Cheer Men Marine PT-38 Sundeck and PT-42 Sundeck with Cockpit Owners Guide at the following link...*
