No HDTV on Direct TV using this package. I am familiar with the model, Direct TV and KVH using this receiver and LNA will only pick up their 101 satellite which is digital but not HDTV. I think the pictures look excellent I have 2 of these systems on Direct TV in 2 different vessels. If you get the correct Dish Networks receiver with this dome you can get their HDTV programming.

The beauty of being a Direct TV subscriber is that if you have the service at home, they will add service to your RV or boat for only $6/mo. per set. On Moonstruck it adds $12/mo to my bill. When checked Dish Network did not have the same deal. If you do not have an account, it would be the same as a regular monthly charge for service.

I have an Intellian i4 receiver. For that size receiver Direct TV does not do HD. However with 28" and 24" screens the picture is outstanding, and HD is not missed.

If you don't have DTV service at home there are 5 packages to chose from I suggest going to www.Directtv.com I don't have it at home so my 1st boat costs about $109.00 a month and the 2nd boat is $6.00. In addition I get the NFL package which is a 1 time seasonal charge of about $134.00 plus taxes. You can get basic packages for about $49.00 a month for the 1st receiver. My wife is a TV news junkie so it is what it is....

We have the same except an M5 and 3 receivers, we have hd at home and it's nice for recording shows and if you want a great picture but standard definition is just as good.
