Hundested variable pitch, reversible prop

I have a used FR 33.5" fully reversible variable pitch Hundested prop for sale, complete with gear box and control wheel. It is currently in the boat in Key West, Florida and is soon to be removed. It is in good condition and has less than 3000 hours. Asking 10,000.00

You've got an interesting item there. I've long thought about installing a controllable pitch prop in my next boat. I (and probably others on the list) would be very interested in hearing your experience with the prop -- performance gains, efficiency, reliability, maintainability. Can you find service for it readily? What kind of boat is it coming out of?

Thank you.

The Hundested prop does everything the manufacturer claims. They have been built for years and are on a variety of boats. To go into it all here would take pages, it would be best to become familiar with them on the web.

Second that. Lots of trawler owners would kill to get that set up under their boat. Maybe boat is being scrapped?

I would be one of those, I just cannot swing a 32" wheel, 10 inches too much.

We are repowering and doing a major overhaul.

It will be very major as the prop system includes a thrust bearing to move the vessel.

It may take a huge rebuild to have the engine beds now take the thrust, or its a great expense to install a different (aqua drive) thrust bearing and complete new shafting.

Personally the CPP is ideal for a long range cruiser ,less useful for a semi plaining boat.
