42 GB Classic or MY on the hard to measure beam

Hi,

We need a 42 GB Classic or MY with the 14.1 beam on the hard, so we can precisely measure the beam to see if it will fit in our floating slip. We will drive within 100 miles of Clearwater Florida. Please let us know ASAP, so we know if we are not only limited to the later models with the 13.7 beam. islandcaren63@gmail.com.

Thank you!

The beam width is normally at the widest point by the maker. The beam at the water line will be less. How high is the edge of your floating dock?

Hi Ron T,

It is complicated. We are surrounded on three sides. We bow in. In front of the bow is the main electrical box, so we need to stay 2 feet back from that. Starboard we have 54 feet of the main dock and port is a 30 foot finger pier. Our dock is 12 inches above the waterline. We would measure about 28 ft back from the tip of the pulpit and 12 inches above the waterline. We have some flexibility, based on how we position the boat in the slip. We only need 3 inches of taper on each side at the widest point to make it work. We found one on the hard, but the manager wouldn't let us in the yard to measure, because of insurance. First time that ever happened. He measured it for us and got 13.8. We need to do it ourselves, because my husband knows exactly what he is looking for. Our slip is 13.6, but it all depends on the taper of the hull. Our friend has a 15 beam in a smaller slip then ours, because it narrowed so much. Aren't you glad you asked!

Happy boating!

How would you deal with fenders or tides and waves in such a close fit???

We are floating, so tide is not an issue, We have 0 wave action where we are located. We would use the flat fenders.

That is great info. I am new on here and am finding it slightly confusing to maneuver. I can't even tell if anyone is getting my responses to their post. I have to go through my email to read the posts. I haven't figured out how to see posts to my posts on the forum. Can you let me know you received this?

Thanks!
