Sure why not????

There are quite a few manufactures that through the years built both power and sail...or for that matter...with a government contract...anything they wanted $$$$$$$$$$.

That 40' Willard Navy Personnel boat has what I think is the best hull construction known Airex. It's foam sandwich at it's best. A strip of Airex foam can be tied in a knot ... and then untied. Adhesion is excellent. The foam is expensive and I think that's why you don't see lot of boats being built w it.

The Navy Personnel Boat is basically a lobsterboat hullform.

>The Navy Personnel Boat is basically a lobsterboat hullform.<

MY USN 50 ft Utility is very like a lobster boat hull, tho it has a backing rudder not usually found on lobster style hulls.

Havent seen Airex in a Utility , yet , mine had balsa in cored sections.

The 50 hulls can be has for about $30K with good engine, many have been converted to brown water cruisers.

The hull is the toughest construction , roving with no CSM , so the hull had to be laid up in one session.BIG bucks.
