davits for 36 IG

The swimming platform on my IG is a bit narrow and most models of davits I looked at won't work. Does anyone have a set of davits they wish to sell that would work on my IG. I'm in southwest Michigan.

Look at Sea Wise Davits. The attachments can be spaced at the width desired on both the swim platform and the dinghy. If you wish you could take a look at these on my AT.

davits

I looked at those, but was informed by the CG I had to show my transom name and port of call since I chose to document my boat and do not sport an MC number.
Kind of like the looks of the 2 arms holding the dingy up but not the price of them.

Whether or not it is legal or not I don’t know but I have seen boats that have their name and hailing port painted on the bottom of their tenders.

Yes, I put the name and port on the bottom of the dinghy.

dingy name

I like the idea. The problem is not so much the CG but the weekend Sheriff fill ins. I kind of equate most of them with the TSA at the airport.

I put the name both on the stern and on the bottom of the dinghy and believe no one could possibly find fault with that approach. The CG gave me a Spring safety inspection and I passed without issues.

When the dinghy is hanging from the davits it blocks the name on the transom. I mounted a sign on the FB rail. I raised the stern light too, so it would be visible.
