Anyone know who purchased Windows-the Fairchild Scout in Maine?

https://www.yachtworld.com/boats/198...build-3093874/

I hear it's staying in Maine.

Was looking at this boat, offered 70 last year, it finally sold according to sold boats on Yachtworld.

I missed this opportunity. Contact me when it's time to sell.

On the trailer is the one I should have purchased, Windows.

Purchasing the one in water having shipped to Lake Keowee, SC by 11-19.

Thanks! I am buying the second boat in the pictures above, but eventually might want the first boat if and when I can find it etc. The second boat is coming from Long Beach, being loaded today, here on Monday. Fingers crossed, long trip of 2300 miles.

Thanks, I really like the way your boat looks. And with a real history of being seaworthy.

Hi, yes, I should have taken the trip to visit you as we have spoken on the phone and emailed. You even have a bow thruster! Let me know if you have any cool parts I can put on the basic one I have pictured here.

Still looking for Windows....in Maine I've been told.

Just got her in, what a ride, 2300 miles and so far so good. Still would like to know where Windows. is! But there is nothing wrong with this!

LER, "and my wife wants me off the varnish ladder."

Based upon my experience with my Nordhavn, 'varnish' is a dirty word to me.

Thank you! Looks like you have a Scout? Which? Is that the one that came from Lake Murray?

I do have a Fairchild Scout 30 Hull #2 It lived on a mooring off the Newport Harbor Yacht Club in Newport Beach California from 1979 until I bought it in 2015. I am currently doing a minor refit in North Florida. Will be launching early 2019.

Very cool! The Scout is such a unique boat, beautifully done with a touch of class. Love the skylight or glass hatch that lets in plenty of light, the stand up cabin, and touches of teach and bronze hardware. Did I mention real portholes? I think mine is hull number 6.

This must be your boat. You stole her lol! I wish mine had a mast and a cockpit headliner. Sea Flute is very basic...looks like you have a newer Yanmar as well if this is the boat I am thinking of. Nice boat indeed.

Thanks! I did find her and the owner! And as a bonus made my fist trip to Bar Harbor, something we now plan to do every year. And someone told me to avoid Bar Harbor but we loved it, staying at the Harborside hotel https://www.theharborsidehotel.com. Great food, lots and lots of something we don't get often..yes Lobsta. But we loved the people and the area, truly beautiful. And all because I searched for a missed opportunity. Well, I ended up with a Scout so all is well, but who knows. Maybe, just maybe if I want to keep this style boat I will end up with Scooter one day.

And please, if you have not been to this area, put it on your list asap! And visit Brooklin Boat Yard http://brooklinboatyard.com which literally is one of the best wooden boat yards in the country. And subscribe to Offcenterharbor.com. It is the coolest website you could ever find. Visit and you will see. Contacting them is how I found Scooter.
