Anchor Roller Replacement

I'm looking to replace the anchor roller on our bow pulpit but not having much luck. It seems to be a bit larger than the wheels I'm finding on the internet.

Size is 6" x 2.5/8" with a .75 hole in the center. The hole accepts a threaded sleeve/bushing that accepts screws on each side to attach to the mount. I imagine I could drop down to a 5" roller but all those I see are too wide, 3.75" at least.

I'll be in FLL & the Keys next weekend if anyone has ideas for a larger supply store. HopCar, I'll stop for a Cuban Coffee if nothing else!

Thanks in advance.

Try Sailorman.com in Ft. Lauderdale. Also check to see when the Dania Beach and Pompano Beach nautical flea market is held.

If it wore out once , it will wear out again.

I would look for a windlass rope chain part and see about modifyiong it with a bushing to fit your shaft

SS or bronze beats plastic , any time.

I have the same roller. I spent a lot of time searching for a direct replacement, with no luck. I gave up and found a 3.5" diameter roller with that narrow width and drilled a bigger hole in it. I just couldn't find one that narrow and that high.

Thanks for the help. I'll definitely check out the stores mentioned but it looks like I'll be going the route of having one made. I have found 6" stock at about $80 a foot. Looks like I'll have a few extra made since a foot is the minimum order.

Spike: You may get 1 extra but I'm not sure you'll get 2.

When we had ours made, we asked if they could make an extra one (I don't know why I asked, since the first ones only lasted 25 years and were made from an inferior product). The machine shop said they needed the extra length for the chuck and also both ends where finish so we just got the 2.
