Albin 25

Looks like a fairly unmolested Albin 25 here for sale. Not mine. Wasn't someone on here looking for one in BC a few months ago?

Albin 25 diesel cruiser Esquimalt & View Royal, Victoria

That's what I had before the Willard. Just about the best darn boat ever built. Mine wasn't heavy in the stern though.

Spy there's a Willard Searcher also on Used Victoria.

Nice boats. We looked at one before deciding it was too small for us. We may reconsider in the future once the kids leave the nest. Ideal pocket trawlers for a couple IMO.

Swedish built Albin owners don't even know what a blister is.

They are a small boat ... only 4000lbs disp and they could just have a lot of "stuff" in the aft cabin. We stored food, drinking water and lots of other stuff back there when we were cruising. With a small light boat the effect of ballast is huge. But if the guy put permanent water tanks and batteries in the aft cabin ...................

Breadbasket Update

It's been a few months since Breadbasket arrived at Thieves Bay - Pender Island - B.C......... I've been busy cleaning her up going through the systems ..... runs like a diesel should although a little noisy .... Put her up on the Grid last week and replaced the prop(30x19) with a 28x23 in perfect condition ..... Search for a month or so with the assistance of our Forum consultants(thnx. Eric!!!!!) ..... checked out Craig's List Seattle et voila there it was ..... located in Pt. Townsend the PO delivered to Pt. Angeles ... I took the Coho over from Victoria exchanged $$ for Prop and travelled back to Pender the same day .... total cost including ferries $425 ...... a seamless re. & re .. I'm happy.... Installed a new VHF and Chartplotter ---- the radar even works!!!! I've been having loads of fun ....... a couple of short Cruises ..... perfect ... I've been studying Mellor's Boat Handling Under Power ......... Not quite ready for a close quarters tight slip docking in a wind storm -- a steep learning curve .... I saw the Albin(it's most likely sold) .... nearly bought one BUT I'm happy with my boat (9000 lbs .. doesn't matter how she's loaded !!!!!! ) stay dry!! john

A friend here is in process of closing on a similar Albin 25. I haven't seen the boat, but I'd hope they found a better solution for locating that holding tank.

Lucy 11,
Great to hear from you .... I was beginning to think you'd dropped off the ... .

Glad you got a good prop. I was thinking about you looking in the basement at the 2nd hand marine equipment store in Bellingham. Lots of props down there. They even have 2 used XYZ anchors. Don't advise the model they have though.

Nice to have you back and I hope you post more often now.

ARoss,
Almost can't go wrong w those Albin's. We had just a Porta Pottie on ours. Camp cruising to be sure. Some day I think I'll go back to an OB about that size. Can't find the perfect design so I may need to put my old NA hat back on.
