6 cylinder Ford Diesel

Hey Guys,

I ran across this on Craigslist several months ago and promised this guy I would list it on Trawlerforum. He was initally asking $4600 but will take $900 now. I'm told it is a 360 Fomoco

*
Hey Steve, came across this old e-mail... The engine is still here I have done a little work on it and it seems I should list it as a used Ford Leihman 6cyl. diesel core, marine<var></var>ised by ThornyCroft in Redding England.. however the trassmission seems good as well as is complete with oil coolers, heat exchange, injection pump and intake and exhust manifolds..* no starter or generator....
Revised and lowered price $900...
if you know of someone I would love to get it off my trailer...
Thanks Roland

Somewhere in South Louisiana. His phone number is on the first post. I happened to see it on Craigslist and thought someone might be interested.

$900?? Maybe someone here will want to buy it and toss it in their tool box so they have a spare? *You never know when you might wish you had a spare engine laying around in the toolbox! *

Yup. He started at $4600 on the initial posting. I'm not sure of the model?? I have talked to him on the phone and he seems to be glad answer any questions.

*When I had my old Mainship with the Perkins T6.354 I actually bought 2 spare engines (both for $100, one was seized), sold the seized one and kept the other in my garage for 8 years until I repowered.Even now although I have a Lehman I have*a Cummins 6BT truck *enigne ready to be marinized should I need one.

I too keep on the look out for a spare. I figure I'll pick one up, re-build it myself at my leisure, pop it in the Starboard side, rebuild the one I pull out, put it back in the Port side and then sell the one left over, or keep fpr parts. The tranny is what reversed the prop, so no right or left hand engine.
