• Trawler Forum Classified Posting Guidelines
    • We expect ads placed to be related to the topic of this forum.
    • Ads that are inactive for 180 days or longer may be moved to the Classified Archive and locked. Ads may be relisted if the item is still current. Alternatively, owners may contact a Moderator to reinstate an archived ad.
    • The Classified section is for advertising, members are asked to refrain from posting discussions to a Classified Ad. Please start a discussion thread or PM the owner for discussions.
    • Do not hijack another member's ad by posting unsolicited commentary. Example: if a member has posted an ad offering an anchor for sale, don't add a post to his thread stating that you have an anchor you'd like to get rid of also. Posts deemed as unsolicited commentary may be removed.
    • For your own security, do NOT include your e-mail or phone number in your ad. Instead request that interested parties contact you via PM (private message) to provide owners contact info.
    • Brokers, Dealers, or those with a commercial interest in a sale are prohibited from posting in Classifieds.
    • Only Trawler Forum Commercial Members may post ads in the Commercial section. You must be a designated Commercial Member to start threads in this section of the forum. (Contact a moderator if you have questions about this)
    • Don't post links to commercial sites where you are also offering the boat, such as eBay, Craigslist or Yachtworld, etc. unless it contains a more in-depth description, additional information or pictures.
    • Place only one ad per item (you may repost only when your ad has expired and been removed).
    For Sale ads MUST include:
    • Asking price
    • Location
    • A Basic Description
    • Clear statement whether you are the owner or non-owner (posting for friend, relative, or acquaintance)
    • Don't forget to select: FOR SALE, WANTED or FREE in the Title block.
All ads should also include ALL the following:
    • Pertinent maintenance and condition information
    • Exterior picture or pictures
    • Interior picture or pictures (boats)
For maximum impact & exposure, it is suggested the Ad Title include: Year, Manufacturer, Model, Length, Price, and Location or at the very top of the ad body. When your item has sold or the ad is no longer relevant: Please post a Reply to the ad that the item is SOLD or click "Report Post" on post 1 of the thread to ask a moderator to archive the ad. Ads may be moved or removed by our staff at any time for any reason. All ads must comply with site rules. Thanks for your cooperation.
  • Avoid Scams.

Our classifieds are free and anyone registered here is welcome to post an ad.
Be aware that there are unscrupulous folks out there. Avoid any interaction that seems odd to you or feels wrong. Inquiries from unknown buyers, buyers agents and other non-traditional approaches should be treated with extreme caution.

Beware of unsolicited contacts offering to put you in touch with someone else who is buying or selling via e-mail or text.

Do not post your e-mail address or phone number in a classifieds ad.

Hints that you may be dealing with a Scammer:
    • Seller or Buyer approaches you via a direct email or PM and then steers you to an off-site communication method (text or email).
    • No posts or very few forum posts.
    • Recent forum membership
    • Insists on conducting negotiations via email or text rather than PM
    • Requires payment via Bank Transfer, BitCoin/CryptoCurrency, WesternUnion or other unsecured method.
    • Buyer or Seller suggests Paypal "Friends and Family" payment. Paypal is a good way to arrange payment but an invoice for goods and services should be used rather than "Friends and Family". "Friends and Family" avoids fees BUT there is no recourse if the transaction runs aground. Friends and Family is for gifts only. There is no protection for Friends and Family transactions, so never ever use it to buy something.
    • Declines to allow viewing the item before proceeding with the transaction.

1978 Marine Trader 36 Sedan Trawler

"Pescadora" (Harpswell, Maine)

Please visit http://kopyc.net/boat/ for the photo gallery and well as the 2004 survey for "Pescadora".

Versatile two-stateroom layout, very sharp looking, this is a really
great and economical cruiser and/or liveaboard.

* Ford Lehman Diesel engine / Paragon Transmission - 3150 hours.
* LOA 36'. Displacement 23000 lbs. Draft 3'6".
* Bridge Clearance 14'6" (mast down).
* Tankage: Fuel 350 gal, Water 160 gal, Holding 56 gal.
* Cruise speed: 7.5 mph @ 1800 rpm. Mileage: 3 gph. Range 1000
miles.

Blister-free and well maintained. Many upgrades for comfort and living
aboard. Very solid throughout - upper decking fiberglass has just been
redone.

Salon Up: The spacious salon is accessed through doors aft and starboard
near the lower helm. All side and rear windows are tinted and have
mini-blinds. An L-shaped settee converts for additional sleeping space.
The galley has a sink, Norelco 12V/120V auto-switching refrigerator,
4-burner propane stove with oven, microwave, and ample storage,
including a roll out liquor cabinet. Ambiance is enhanced by a built-in
AM/FM CD with 4 speakers and string lights behind the teak valance
around the perimeter of the room. The interior woodwork and parquet
floors are beautiful.

Cabins Down: The forward Vee master sleeps two, with ample storage and
closet space. The guest cabin, to port, has an extra bunk, sleeps three
and has a closet for storage.

Engine Room: The previous owner had a scuffed piston, so the engine was
overhauled in 2002, piston was replaced, new rings were installed on all
cylinders, all bearing tolerances were inspected as new. The exhaust
elbow and all rubber hoses were also replaced less than 100 hours ago.
All oil pressure and temp sensors were replaced. New VDO temp gauges
were installed. Oil change pump and kit are included as are all spare
filters, belts, and impellers. It has a Kohler diesel 4kVA genset (1840
hours) with remote start/stop. There are 3 batteries less than two years
old, 8D house, 6D starting, and genset starting battery. There is an
automatic battery charger for the main batteries that works from shore
power or the genset. It has two automatic bilge pumps and a sea-water
exchange, ducted air conditioner (no heat). The engine room is clean and
well lit.

Plumbing: There is a Raritan 6 gallon electric/engine-heat-exchange
water heater that is less than 1 year old. All plumbing between the
water heater and the engine has been replaced. It has separate Jabsco
diaphragm pumps for the house water system and the seawater deck
washdown. The head is a heavy-duty and topnotch Skipper II manual head.
Plumbing to and from the holding tank is PVC. The holding tank is
recently new and has a clear PVC viewport/clean-out for inspection and
monitoring. The fresh water tanks are less than two years old and have
an accessible sight glass for monitoring the level. The starboard head
has a vanity/sink and shower/tub.

Bridge: Full length fly-bridge, with seating for 6+, upper and lower
steering stations, depth, compass, engine controls and gauges, wooden
wheel, VHF, Loran, Stereo, Ram mic from lower DSC.

Lower Station: Standard Horizon Spectrum DSC/VHF with hailer and for
signals and portable RAM mic, JRC 2000 Raser Scan Radar, Standard
Horizon CP170 WAAS GPS color chart plotter (radar and chart plotter are
NMEA interfaced), compass, depth-finder, digital knotmeter, original
Benmar CS21 Course Setter Autopilot (works perfectly), and loud electric
horns. A third fish-finder/depth-finder is located at the stern at the
transom for fishing from the lazarette. DownEast rod holders at transom.
Spares include a King Loran and a complete (duplicate new in the box)
autopilot drive.

Danforth and plow 30-lb anchors with separate rodes and chains. Heavy
duty Sampson's post, bronze through-rail fairleads. Electric windlass
with foot switch. Ocean Marine Systems davits for an 11-foot Zodiac. A
transom door provides access to the full width swim platform and
boarding-ladder. Also full teak decks all around.

The boat is an eye-catcher! The hull above the water lie still has its
original shine; below the waterline it is smooth, true, and has no
blisters, due to this boat having been in fresh water most of its life
(NY Finger Lakes).

Miscellaneous: Included are all canvas covers, life-jackets and ring
buoys, flares, fenders, lines, and six adjustable stands for storage on
land. This boat is ready to go!

The boat is currently moored in South Harpswell, Maine (near Brunswick,
just north of Portland, ME).

Must see! Call or email today to make an appointment to see this
excellent, ready-to-go trawler.

Asking Price: $20,999 (reduced, as of April 2012)
