We have listed with a broker our Symbol 41 Sundeck for sale this week. My wife's health is keeping us from using her for close to the past 6 months and she should be getting used and not just maintained. Down the road, we will likely replace with a different style boat with stern entry (more of a sedan style). This is a very nice boat that someone will enjoy for years and years. Great looking sundeck. I have a Nova 40ft. That appears to be the same boat. I know this is off topic but do you know your prop shaft diameter. I am 1500 miles away from my boat and need to buy shaft anodesize before I head down. Thanks

Off the top of my head, I think they are 1 3/4" shafts. But, I will be on the boat this afternoon and will double check and let you know tonight.

I looked at a Niva 40 this week in Anacortes. What kind of fuel consumption, and performance do you get? Speed? speed at what RPMs? Fuel Consumption?

A few answers: Our normal cruise speed at 1400 rpms, this pushes us through the water at about 8 to 8.5 knots. (right around hull speed) At this speed, we burn around 5 to 6 gallons per hour with both engines. 2.5 to 3 gph per engine. Taking the engines up to 2200 rpms will get her moving about 12.5 to 13 knots. Running at 1300 rpm will move the boat at around 7 to 7.5 knots. She idles at 5 knots with both engines in gear.

Cummins put out a fuel burn rate chart for these engines:
