Thanks Eric. She does not have the sweet lines of your boat but she is a provien cruiser and she has been in a National Geographic movie.

Permaglass made commercial boats in BC and for a few years in the early 1980s, ventured into the trawlers. So she has heavy-duty glass work. Owners finished them out indivudally so there is quite a variety of layouts. Lizzie M has a lot of black walnut used inside and when I asked the original owner about the unusual wood he said: "Well we had a black walnut treee come down on our property, so we milled it up and used it in the Lizzie M." Kind of nice connection.

Wow, that is quite a nice boat and quite a deal for somebody. How much power does the diesel have and what kind of performance?

John

The diesel is a Misubishi 6-cylinder, 117 hp with a Twin Disc tranmission (2.5 ratio, I think but will check). We typically run at 1,600 to 1,700 RPM which pushes her about 6.5 to 7 knots; that is with a skiff in tow most of the time. She is probably over-powered by my reckoning (Eric's Willard has a 75 hp Mitsubishi). The diesel is at 2,000 hr; when I bought her 7 years ago, she only had 800 hr. She has a keel cooler (photo attached). We run about*1.75 - 2 *gallons per hour .

The prop was balanced and polished in 2009 - the machinist said that every blade was a different pitch and different size before he tuned it.

Carl,

Yes, a newly installed zinc. For being a custom fitted zinc, they are amazingly easy to find. I think this model of keel cooler is very common on commercial boats here so there is a good market for the zincs.

Heaven forbid not 75hp! 37hp rated as an industrial engine. But as an industrial engine it has a large nylon cooling fan on the front of it like an old car. Must eat up at least 5hp. Vetus and Westerbeke have the same engine exactly and rate the 4-107 Mitsu at 42 and 44hp. Is the Mitsu in your Permaglass marineized by Klassen?
