For Sale: 1988 CC 501

Tried to post this before with no luck. Looking for a trawler for the great loop? I have something you might be interested in. We have a 1988 501 we bought in 2013. It wasn't a project boat but we did do a pretty complete restore project (over 100K) while using her as a winter home in Ft Myers Beach, including a complete paint job by Diversified in Ft Myers ( paint house.,5 star paint job)Hardware off, new rub rail, custom 12ft glass tender and Marquip type custom crane. We did engine work,bottom ,software, and she is beautiful again. This 501 gets over a mile per gallon at 1150rpm, 12mph and 8.5 gph ( total both eng !) She does 26 mph wot and cruises all day at 15-17 mph and 28 gph. 501 CCs have a very solid glass hull and are build to standards that rival Hatt and Bertram. I have now decided that I want a Convertible again and will be moving in that direction but it will be another solid glass hull ( Post,Viking, maybe even a 50 Silverton)! My surveyor told me to NEVER buy a cored hull boat. Cored decks are mostly OK...but not bottoms or hull sides...period! His words not mine! He was one of many prime surveyors in New Orleans and said no cored hulls survive anywhere like the solid hulled boats and certain makes were ALL totaled! Email jgdrd7605@verizon.net if interested. Gary
My beauty has a few things left to do but nothing major.

Perhaps pictures and a price would yield better results than the last time you posted it.

Gary, post #6 of the above link should help you post pictures. Let me know if you still cannot figure it out. You can email the pictures to me and I'll upload them for you if you need.

Craig, Thanks for the help offer.Please email me from your email as I can't really navigate this forum. I can email pictures to you with wife's help. ,I think. I may have put my post in the wrong spot...so I apologize to the Forum Police. On the Boat it is called a 501 and is an extended deck motor yacht .She is very similar in some ways to the Hatt 53 extended deck but with a full walkin dedicated engine room 16w x 7h x15 long (Hugh) and NO electric issues. Systems are 12v and 240/120 ac, no 32 or 24 v in4 different places! All 12v at helm and ac on ONE panel! Here's some specs;
Length over all 58ft, beam 15ft 9in, weight about 30 tons on the scale*800 gal fuel),eng 6V92 550 with "about" 1500 total hrs on boat,port was minored inframe 2013 now 200 hr, starbd has probably 1500 hrs.I have receipts for all work but did both eng with new SS risers, turbos, acid dipped all coolers, complete service by dETROIT. Full new canvas enclosure on bridge 2014 -17 to the tune of over $20K with covers for windows for layup. Custom crane built by Diversified 2015-16 looks identical to Marquip, Hyraudlic up, gravity down for boom and 2500# 12v winch, system rated 800#. Tender is new 12ft, built to fit on bridge by Riviera Custm boats w/ new Merc 10hp, center console, elec start and remote throttle/gear and steering wheel . 2 new marine radios w/ DSC,all bridge seating new, steering hynautic hydraulic, gears and throttles, hynautic hydraulic all recent service. Is it painted?

If not what is the finish on it that is giving it that gloss?

Hello lady,

If posting online pictures without the date been seen is an issue, I think I can help with that.
Lovely boat by the way wish I can place a price on it. Wow

cambria lady 1988 501 for sale

Yes it is painted. It's the same as the other good quality poly urethane paints like awgrip and imron .It's by EMC and is one of the very few that can be "blended" without repainting an entire section...and the shine is real, looks even better in person and has been washed only, never waxed. One of the big pluses is it was painted in a climate, dust and bug controlled "paint house" at Diversified, Ft Myers supervised by Bob Marra.

Is there a formal listing of the boat somewhere ?
My wife and I are in good Looper boat that may work for you.
We are year round liveaboards and the boat is set up that way. Diesel and propane fireplaces etc...
