Compass

I have a 1994 Robertson AP 2500 the compass is missing as the PO pulled a fast one on me. Where might I be able to find a replacement ? thank you

Kevin,

Finding a used compass can be pretty iffy considering the age of this system. Apparently there has been enough demand for these discontinued units that an outfit in the UK developed a replacement kit based on the Cetrek 930-580 heading sensor, which is still in production:

Compass Sensor Heading accuracy ± 1°
Operating temperature: -20°C to +85°C
Output: Sine/Cosine
Weight: 0.11 kg (4 ozs) ex cable
Size: 115 x 75 x 50mm (4.5" x 3" x 2")

They sell them on Ebay with a 14-day return policy and a 24-month warranty. The seller seems to have a good seller rating and reviews. The price is in line with heading sensors for most other recreational autopilots.

Good luck
