Mufflers

I have two new never used mufflers, two 4" intakes and 1 5" exhaust on each muff. They were made in 2001 but factory new. Make offer.

So each muffler is designed to handle a v8 twin exhaust - what would be the effect of capping off one inlet to serve a 6 cylinder?

You may want model numbers. I don’t think each muffle is for dual V-8......

They look similar to an underwater exhaust muffler. One 4” goes through the bottom of the boat with a scupper facing rear to protect from forced water entry. The second 4” is where the engine connects. The 2” is a bypass out the side or back of boat just in case there is to much water pressure under the boat from swell or other natural hydro pressure. The bypass keeps from back flowing into your engine.

I may be way off, but looks very much like underwater exhaust muffler.... Very quiet, eliminates fumes, a really good system if you wanted to modify your boat to make it work.

You may be able to block the bypass and use it as a simple in-out....

Model # would be useful - but I'm pretty sure Madhatter has them listed as two four inch inlets and one 5" out. That's why I'm thinking v8 wet exhaust.

They were for a pair of 454 crusaders, one muff per motor.

Gotcha! I see his next post now too... you should be able to use one inlet for a 6 cylinder. If it were me..... I would glass one closed....

Per TF rules, a price must be included. You can state $XXX or best offer, but you must have a price, or the ad may be removed. Listing specifics are included in TF rules. TF Site Team

You do realize this is a two year old post. But to abide by the rules price is $100.
