Lightbulb wire code different on EU boats

I installed a new A/C this weekend, could not get it working.


checked voltage etc all looked good


called support, asked for pics


Now all my life green is ground right!



so I have green, yellow/green strip and tan


Well green was kinds teal, really blue I learned



Blue is neutral
Tan load
yellow/green ground


all is well with a quick switch

I would never assume anything. I keep a voltmeter on-board.

I've learned on boats, unless you know what colors were used originally, don't trust / assume anything, check it all. On my boat for 12v stuff, Chris Craft loved to do dumb things like using red and black both for +12v and white for ground on branch circuits. Yet the main ground cables are black, of course.
