Fire on Beneteau Swift last November in Florida

We happen to stumble across a Swift trawler that starting on fire you tube video in November 2017 near Sarasota Florida. being that we just bought a brand new one, we are concerned if anybody knows how the fire started on that boat? Looked very scary! Does anybody know?

Mr. J. Welcome aboard. You could get in touch with the Sarasota fire department. They may know the outcome of any inquiry as to the source of the fire. At least they might be able to direct you to someone who might know. Or perhaps contact the marina where the fire was.

I spoke to Beneteau corporate about it and they said that unfortunately it's likely that we'll never know the cause. My assumption is that it isn't anything systemic as there are a high volume of Swift Trawlers around the world and they don't typically go up in flames.

there was discussion already on this and i asked the same question. after digging, i could not get any info and dont believe we ever will. was told there was a recent service done to the engines so its possible someone goofed or something failed...or that was completely unrelated...
