Northern Lights M643 gen set

I have a Northern Lights M643 Generator. Does it have zincs? I have read the manual and find no mention of changing the zinc(s). Since I have changed the ones on my mains I figured the gen set should get the same treatment.

Oh, and if there are zincs, where are they? Before I start removing the enclosure I want to start in the right place.

Thanks

They now say zinc are no longer required. The top page shows the location (41) and the second page shows the part number no longer required.

Thanks. I saw that but was perplexed by the "no longer required" part. Would hate to ruin the cooling system by not having a zinc. Makes you wonder what caused the change.

The dissimilar metals are separated by rubber boots, and if the exhaust is installed properly the salt water will drain out of the tube bundle when the engine is stopped.

It’s all by design.

There is a zinc plug in the coolant side of the exhaust manifold. Why they put one there, who knows. If you put one there, it will do no good. No zincs on SW side.

Do lightly snug the fore and aft most clamps on the boots, they form the seal separating SW from coolant. Many of these leak and get sw in the coolant. If in doubt, get new boots (not horribly expensive) and clean the ends of the bundle and flush the coolant.
