The belts are much more efficient than hydraulic pumps and slave hydraulic motors. And the flat belt w many little grooves is considerably more efficient than the old style V belts. But then the oil pump in the BW cab eat up 5hp.
Toothed belts like the "HTD" are very efficient and can be rigged for perfect sync.
