It would seem that the fair size delta T between water temp and exhaust temp (where I boat) would make the seebeck effect and sterling motors somewhat viable waste heat efficiency improvers. At least from a proof of concept model.

Re turbine powered genset, any idea of the price for a unit the size for our type of boat say 8-9 KW?

Ebay usually has a handful for sale ... mostly 400Hz or DC output. Perfect for a flying bridge installation for those who never use the flying bridge.
