Advice needed. I want to install a bow thruster on my 41ft, single engine. Now I'm only getting 6.5K @ 1800 and 7K max. at full speed (2000-2200). How much will a bow thruster hole reduce my already snail speed?:banghead:

Every boat is different but correctly faired, the addition of a bow-thruster should not much make much difference. Certainly I couldn't detect any when we put one in. Your cruising speed shouldn't change, the engine governor may open a up a fraction and you might burn a tiny little bit more fuel to maintain that speed; and it's conceivable that your top speed might come off a fraction since the governor is wide open anyway.
