I would find it annoying to have to go down into the ER to wind the starter every time I needed to start the motor.

You could pre-wind it for the next time when you do an engine/oil check after shutting down. Supposedly can be left like that for a year without harm.

Someone could design one with a re-wind driven from the engine after it is started, like the air start engines are.

Either hyd or air start will do this. hyd might be better choice as so many items can be hud powered.

One nice setup has a 4 or 6KW generator head , with no problems maintaining 60cps even with throttle changes.

Or just hook a battery up to an electric starter.

Or switch out your engine for a Detroit 71. They start in less than one revolution, so the spring starter wouldn't need winding very often
