I bought an old Prowler 32 in Miami back in the late 70's. Had a couple of lightweight Volvo diesels. It smoked like a DDT truck. Lots of white smoke pouring out of both exhausts. Luckily my then wife had just given me a book on diesel engine maintenance for Christmas. It had a trouble-shooting chart in the appendix which matched smoke color with possible cause(s). I remember white smoke was said to be caused by, among other things, too rich a mixture. So I pulled the air intake filters and they were clogged solid with spider webs and grass clippings. Cleaned the things out and put them back on. Those old Volvos ran as clean and clear as the day they left the factory. Hope your solution is as simple...meantime I suggest you ask your wife for a diesel engine book for Christmas...or your birthday, whichever comes first. Good luck amigo!
