Whats wrong with the Perkins?

I'm fairly sure your boat has a full displacement hull, which is not designed to plane.

Putting the 150 hp Izuzu, will require a LOT of work, and you will likely get an increase in top speed of less than 0.5 knots. You will be left with less space to work on your engine. It will be noisier, use more fuel, and will not add any value to your boat.

Yes - it can be done, but there is no good reason to do it. Even if you have a free Isuzu, and your Perkins is siezed, you'd still be better off to pay market price for another Perkins.
