There are LOTS of Holset models. My point was several will fit and work fine. I know several Mainship owners who have not been able to find an exact oem turbo to buy and could not find a shop that could get a rebuild kit for those models.
There are other options available.

BTW my original Perkins 160 (circa 1978) had a Switzer turbo charger on it. Looked identical to the Holset 3LD that was on the "spare" Perkins of the same era that I bought and the Holset rebuild kit fit.
(Holset is now owned by Cummins)

I've been too busy to address this issue but I will tell you it is a Holset H1B turbo and I have seen rebuild kits on and parts on line. Thanks for everyone's input thus far.

Foley: Bad people. With a little shopping $1700. would buy 2 new turbo's.

That said, your crankcase breather goes into the turbo intake and the most likely source of the oil.
