perkins 6cyl but what model

just bought a 1981 Californian 36' has a pair of 6 cyl perkins. no i.d. tag on either engine. anyone have a idea of how to i.d. these engines?

The serial number is stamped on the block in a machined area next to the injection pump. Once you have that, send an email to Perkins and ask.

Boatpoker beat me to it! I have the engine handbook for mine which says:

"The serial number is stamped on the fuel pump mounting flange of the cylinder block
as shown in Fig. 1.

A typical number is TU30048U510123E (see next page)"

I have this in .pdf if you want me to send it to you, that would be easier than trying to extract the images and tables and post them somewhere. Just PM me.

after months of computer problems. just realized I had lost the files you had sent me, perkins manuels for t6.354m engines. if you could send them again I will forever in your debt. THANKS JIM
