Lehman 225 Fan Belt Covers

Good Morning,

Just purchased my first Trawler, a 40 ft Island Gypsy, and in the beginning of preparing for the Loop in about 2 years. One of the things that the surveyor pointed out during the inspection is that there are no fan belt covers on the engines. Searching the internet I can seem to find that one exist's for these engines. (1988 Lehman 225SP). Does anyone know if they do exist and where to find them?

I didn't care but my insurance company wanted them.


I explained that they were never made and never heard of or found any, too hard/expensive to fabricate (sorta), on my 120 the belt went behind a coolant hose and I had safety protocols in place where they were not needed.


They bought off on it.

When I repowered my ex boat with a Cummins 6BTA the first thing I did was remove the guard before the engine went in.
