JD - Not doubting that Boring said it, just doubting that it makes any sense. Is it stated in a Yanmar owner's manual that the filter is impreganated with something to prolong pump life?

FYI I have read that the newer Fleetguard filters (for Cummins) also have a lubricity element in the media.

TG,

Not that I know of.*

Reading the monthly sales brochure from JD seems they are a huge supporter of "Mouse Milk"

They want special lubricity additives added for low sulfur fuel, and different goop for any biodiesel dumped in the tank.

Unkle Shmuck has mandated that up to 5% bio diesel can be used to dilute/debase diesel fuel with OUT a pump notification.

5% is enough to break loose the sidewall gunk buildup in an old poorly maintained tank.

So the next time you start purchasing primary filters by the case , thank the Farm Lobby!
