Expected cost for injector service

I have a Perkins 6.354 Diesel and I have just had 6 injectors rebuilt as well as the CAV injector pump. The pump was completely shagged, all of the internals etc needed replacing (everything but the outer case was replaced) and the injectors were like water pistols and not atomising the diesel. Total cost was $1,823.50.

So how much for the injectors and how much for the pump?

What gave you indication that the pump was shagged?

I've never run the motor so I am rebuilding it. I dropped the injectors and pump off to be serviced. It wasn't till I got a call that the extent of the repairs needed was evident. I went down and they showed me the stripped internals. Cam, fins etc
