Expansion tank gasket

I removed my expansion tanks to replace the thermostats and install an overflow system. When I replace the expansion tank should I use leave the gasket dry or spread gasket goop on it? I think dry but gotta ask...

Sound like you have a Lehman. If so, definitely clean the gasket surfaces properly then dry gasket.

Thanks, Ken. I wasn't sure so I bought gasket goop anyway. I'll put it all back together this week. Any idea how to drain all the coolant from a FL120?
