Installed one of these about a year ago after we had our raw water pump scare and subsequent pump rebuild.

Today its ear piercing alarm went off .
One press of a button to stop noise but temp keeps flashing so as not to forget.
It was raw water out, a sender electrical tied onto the s/s pipe set for 45degc, it usually runs around 32c. (I have the second one on oil filter for low rpm running temp.)
Looked out back and not much water flow but a whole lot of steam so kept an eye on the numbers and limped to a nearby sandbank and anchored.
Raw water had crept up to 55c
Engine temp water slowly crept from just below 80c to about 85c
Shot the engine with laser and it was normal.
Nothing untoward, just sucked up a pile of weed in the screen
Checked impeller, all good there.
Back together and running at 32c again.
$130 well spent me thinks.
