Few boats have a high mounted day tank , so priming a diesel is simply a matter of opening a bleed point and waiting fot gravity to do the work.

*

I use a small punp from Detroit Diesel, part number 05110760 that is about the size of a cigar that can pull ,or pump up to about 50psi .

*

It is set for std nechanical fittings , so with a bit of hose and another fitting it can push or pull fuel as needed.

*

The on engine filter is uslally the hardest to prime , with this it is a breeze.

*

Looking for an air leak is a bear , with this in the fuel line from the tank, a few PSI and the leak becomes easy to spot.
