I see some do but I seem to recall that much condensation results and is probably due to non-breathing covers. If I wrapped my OB in plastic (non-breathing) would ther'e be more moisture under the cowling? And if I found a purpose made cover that was supposed to breath would that be worth getting, or would the engine stay drier w no cover at all?

I sewed a cover for my outboard. I used scraps of Sunbrella and sewed a drawstring to keep it on. It only covers the cowling and upper part of the drive. Sunbrella breathes.

I would buy or make a cover if I were you.
