True..old info isn't necessarily bad...but the trick is to know when it is no longer current.
Like on paper charts...many landmasses don't change but ATON does, new NDZs, new restricted areas, etc.....
The minute anything goes to print...it could be already superseded unless you are on a good update list.
The beauty of current internet charts (NOAA) and Active Captain info...is if compared to old or other info...at least a difference gives you an alert.....without it...and just going on some almost already year old printed info, you are just hoping things haven't changed.
Not sure that's the best approach to anything.
