I bought fuel in Galveston, Tx at Pier 19 / Galveston Party Boats last weekend for $2.20 a gallon. This is a commercial fuel dock that turns a LOT of fuel, so it's always fresh. They don't seem thrilled about selling to Rec boats, but they will. Cash only, no credit cards. Local checks accepted with matching DL.
BobH, sorry for not replying to you earlier. Oak Island/Double Bayou is tricky getting in and out. If you've never been there you probably should follow someone in that is familiar. By the way, the store that sells fuel changed hands back around Thanksgiving and I've not checked on fuel prices since. I've always had good luck with their fuel though. They seem to turn it fairly quickly. Seems a lot of local farmers buy from them.

Brent, I bought fuel at Pier 19 about three weeks ago. They were happy to take my credit card. I was third in line at the dock behind a 40' sport fish and a 57' Carver.

Last fuel I bought was about two weeks ago in Venice, LA. I paid $1.71!
I got a bulk rate since we had two boats in company and we bought over 1,000 gallons.
