New place to stop in BC

Just wanted to tell everyone about a new place to stop on the way North up the Inside Passage . It is called Toba Wilderness Marina. It's north of Desolation Sound, located on the north shore of Pryce Channel, right at the north end of Waddington Channel where it intersects with Pryce Channel. Their web site is Toba Wilderness | Come Experience Toba Inlet

No one is aboard several of the boats here today as they have flown back home for whatever reason and left their boats here so they can continue their trip later.

New docks, power, lots of fresh water, showers, garbage drop off, walking trails, friendly folks, and what a view!!

Here are a few pictures.

Lots of improvements! This used to be called Toba Wildernest. No power, small dock, not many amenities. Are Kyle and Andrea still the owners/operators?

Yup - that's what the website says.

We stayed there two nights last August. It is a great place and we will return. We enjoyed motoring all the way up Toba Inlet. Saw one grizzly bear on shore, but there were other bears on the trails above the marina. It was great to be away from the crowds in Desolation Sound!

We stayed at Toba Wilderness a couple of weeks ago. FIRST CLASS docks, many improvements underway. This is fast becoming a premier marina in the region.

We were there a few years back. Very hospitable couple. Kyle gave us an interesting tour of his generating facility. Filled up with crystal clear mountain water.
Bears were in the area at night and a couple of orcas passed by the marina while we having supper.
Highly recommend this place.

They love to play in there and wake up the tugs.

Couple weeks ago, a pair were right on the deck. Skipper caught them coming and could see in the cockpit from the wheelhouse.

Yup, they're back at it again this year. Last year we had a pair come straight at us as we were going down Johnstone Strait; one flew over and one flew beside us. On his side so we got to see his cockpit.

Seems to be a June thing.
