A Trawler training vacation in Alaska

We have just a couple remaining dates available for training cruises this summer, in addition to our end of season positioning cruise from Juneau to Ketchikan in September. That cruise is offered with a great discount since it's not in prime season. We offer hands on live aboard training on our Defever 49 RPH in the amazing wilderness of South East Alaska. You can get additional information at our website, tagged in the signature line. Feel free to call any time for more info too, but were underway a lot and don't always get cell service. Have a safe boating summer.............Captain Jeff, Arctic Traveller

Thanks for that, any idea why it doesn't work? As for a free trip, I'm afraid we can't do that but we can offer a great experience for an affordable price. Thanks again...........A/T

A gentle reminder, best NOT publish your email address on thread. PM it to the member you want to email you. Otherwise you risk spam, and may attract spammers to TF. But, it`s your choice.

My wife and I just finished with a 10 day trip with Jeff and Janet. It was an awesome Alaskan experience. We were new to trawlers and needed to learn if we liked the lifestyle for a future retirement boat. Every day we learned more and did more. From trip planning to emergency preparedness to the boat systems. Our confidence level is high enough for our next trip to be a bare boat rental. The trip was a vacation that we will never forget.

Thanks for the kind words Mike, I'm glad you enjoyed the experience. Truth be told though, it's pretty hard to have anything less than an amazing trip when your in Alaska. The scenery, seclusion and wildlife make it easy. I can't think of a more beautifull setting in which to expose our students to the wonders of boating, it's why we live here. Were ARE living the dream. All the best in your future boating endeavors...............

Actually Mark, we boat year around, but our prime season lasts about 7 months. If you departed now, you could be here by July, spend a couple months exploring and then store the boat till next spring. It's not California's year around sunshine, but we still have lots going for us including all the water you need to wash your boat ...........

Yes, Arctic, but then I'd miss a half years' boating and time at home as well as having to keep an eye out for all the float planes.

Last chance this year for trawler training

There is just a short time left until our last trip of the year and we still have room. Don't miss this great opportunity to experience Alaska while getting the training you need to run your own trawler. I'll be out of communication range for several days at a time, but send us an email through our website and I'll get back to you a sap. Safe sailing to you and your crew

Captain Jeff

I"m not sure if I'm allowed to bump this thread, as a new one I posted in the classified section was immediately taken down due to it's commercial nature and my posting it in the wrong place. I sent an email to a mod to see if it could be moved and I'm waiting for a reply. I'm sure if this old post is now prohibited, I'll be notified quickly. Meanwhile, we have some new options available for 2016 if anyone is interested. Safe sailing.........Captain Jeff

I've looked around your website but didn't find anything on pricing. I did notice that when you mouse-over the "Contact Us" button it says "Our 2007 season is filling up now".

Yup, I'm aware that my site is pretty dated. The woman who built it did a great job, (and charged me accordingly ) Since then, the site has aged, but when I contacted her a while back she said she no longer leased the software she used to create it, therefore she would not be able to do further updates. She recomended that the entire site be rebuilt using different software, but when she gave me the price, I decided to wait a bit to look at other options. I'm not a computer nerd, but I know there are build it yourself options, there just not for me. So, as you can see, the site really needs an update, but my hope is that folks can get a solid idea of what we offer and will contact me for current information. As for pricing, I'd be happy to send you our current price list. Lastly, the mods just removed my signature tag with my website address, so a PM here will get you a response. Thanks for looking, I look forward to helping you become a more educated boater. Captain Jeff

True, but we age more slowly, so that makes up for it
