:flowers:Often I think about the current pricing of these classic Chris'es housing huge 454 cu.in. engines laying about due the gas prices making boating any fun.

These classic boats are often found in predestine condition with all the luxury one would desire.but can not afford with "New" boats. The short fall is the power by gas and the cubic inches of the engines.

So- the thought of acquiring two used rebuild or working smaller diesel engines placed in one of these rigs, driving the hull at near hull speed and not much more, with the economy of diesel as well the safety, dwells within the soul and mind.

However, at the age this old boy is sitting at, it is a dream passed on. but here is an example of step two- the engines.:ermm:

NOTE: Yes this is the subject of past post recognizing the negativity of the concept. still, what the heck!!

It's not a bad thought. Our first larger boat was a 42 Chris that had been repowered (over-powered, actually) with Cummins 330 hp engines. Great economy when run at trawler speeds. It can work.
