Northern newbie

Hi Trawlerers! just signed up. We live in northern Ontario and will be mooring in Brit Ontario this summer. We have a 30 Mariah but we are looking to purchase a trawler. Our plan is t to do the great loop. Would like some input on what is the best trawler out there. Hoping that old topics will cover this. Thank you for letting us s join .Gil:

Greetings,
Welcome aboard eh? Depending on the model, you could do the loop in your current boat.

OK all together now.... send pics of YOUR boat for consideration for this Newbie. Lollie and lust but choose you must! ME FIRST get one of those hard to find Mainship double cabin if you can find one. Like hens teeth Hard to find.
Welcome aboard, metaphorically speaking of course.

There is no such thing as the best trawler. There is the boat that's best for you. Now to make recommendations of boats to consider, a couple of questions. How many people will be looping the majority of the time and then how many guests other times. How long do you intend to take for the loop. How will you use the boat after the loop? What is it you're looking for in your ideal loop boat?

We are thinking a 40 ft trawler would suit our needs. We are a couple and plan to invite other couples on our loop. Will be planning a year or two on the loop then will use it as a summer liveaboard. Two cabins two head and a shared shower would be okay. Mainship s are nice but my favorite would be a grand banks. Money talks so we are just now starting to look. We are giving ourselves a year to find one.
