New to Forum

Hi All,

I have been lurking for about a year as I narrowed our search for a larger boat to do some cruising. I suspect for a long time the questions I will have will be very basic. I will likely read much more than I post.

Today we live and work in the Portland Or. area and fish the Columbia and Oregon coast in a 26' North River O/S. We also stay on it but it is closer to camping than being a second home.

We just got an accepted offer on a Nordic Tug. More on that once the deal closes.

Tim

Tim, welcome to another River Rat boater. We're a bit upriver from where you are, but my boat is now in Portland getting some repairs done so I'll be back down your direction in a bit before cruising her back to her slip.

Congrats Tcoop, My wife and I love the Nordics. We are looking for one in size 32.
Let's see some pictures.

Thanks all for the good wishes. The tug is 37' and we can't decide on a name so that might be awhile. Crusty, you and ASD are partially responsible because of your write ups the last couple years. Our North River is at St Helens and our view is the side a 53' Selene, love that look as well.

How cool is that!

ASD and Pairadice will be at the Halloween bash next month at St. Helens the 11th thru the 14th. Hope to see ya there. By the way the Selene 53 wouldn’t be “Melissa Lynn” would it? Russ and Missie are a lot of fun and we hope they can participate in the festivities.

Cheers!

Yes, that is the boat. I haven't met the owners yet. There is another 53' in the marina that unfortunately I have never seen it being used.

I hope the purchase goes smoothly. I really like the NT37. I think you will enjoy it a lot.

Welcome and good luck with your purchase! NT are some of the best northwest boats around. Most of our boating has been based near where they are made so we see a lot of them on the water. (Back in the early 90's I worked for a company that built most of their water tanks, and the company ended up moving into the same business park in Burlington.) They always draw your attention in a crowded anchorage.

Congratulations! We just moved our "new to us" Grand Banks 36 down to the Columbia from La Conner. Will look for you on the river.

Just saw this thread

That would be us! We will be doing boat chores on her all weekend coming up, come on over and introduce yourselves. You have the OS with twins right?

Are you planning to moor in St Helens still?
