Hello from the KIA ORA

Hello to to everyone in this forum. My name is Mark from Germany. I cruise with my wife, our little dog Paris and sometimes family and friends all around the Mediterranean. Presently our KIA ORA, a Beneteau Swift Trawler 44, is located at Lefkas, a beautiful island in the Ionian Sea west of Greek mainland. We cruise since 5 years all the way from Mallorca along Spain, Italy, Croatia to Greece what we like most so far. Our little Trawler carried us through many difficult situations safely. Especially the Agean waters south of Athens towards Crete and Turkey are often very stormy during summer. I like to share and read experiences with you about everything related to Trawlers. Thanks for beeing part of this forum.

Welcome aboard Kia Ora! Looking forward to your posts.
Is there a New Zealand connection?

Yes, like Bruce said. And yes, I share his interest being an ex-Kiwi myself, as kia ora is greetings in the Maori language - possibly shared by some other Pacific Island nations..? Maybe a NZer was a previous owner and the name was preserved..?
